Vinalhaven

The Crockett's lived in Vinalhaven and North Haven for several generations. Issac Crockett married Susanna Hooper in about 1769 and Susanna was born in Vinalhaven. Issac and Susanna were Earl's 3rd great grandparents. James (Issac's son), David (Issac's grandson), and Alvin Crockett (David's son and Earl's grandfather) were all born on Vinalhaven island.

The island is about 3 miles by 5 miles. It is 15 miles off the coast of Maine with a current population of about 1200.

Bruce Brereton's family (Bruce is Earl's grandson) had the opportunity to spend two weeks on the island (Summer, 1999). If you can, you should try and visit this wonderful place.
