Letter from Earl - 1961

March 15, 1961
1781 No. Pine Lane
Provo, Utah

Dear Family,

Today it appears as though Spring is here. We have had some snow lately, but the winter has been much too dry. The city plans on restricting sprinkling of lawns next summer.

Last Sunday we enjoyed a visit from Dave and Pearl who ate dinner with us and spent the afternoon in Provo.

We are glad Archie is well enough for him to be out of the hospital for a time at last. We trust Mabel that you are getting along O.K.

This week I am going to Phoenix, Arizona for three days attending a conference. Next month I spend a week in Los Angeles visiting two colleges in the area. I find the work at BYU and its related responsibilities to be decreasingly interesting. After a visit in January in Boulder Colorado, Della and I were both agreed that we were not sorry we had moved to the new job. It will soon be four years since we left Boulder.

I suppose you will soon be returning to Idaho, Elva. Hope Leo is better. Call on us on your way home.

Bob and Janet have bought a new house in S.L.C. He is doing well in the State Attorney’s office. There baby is about six months old and real cute.

Della, Dave and Margaret join us in sending love,
Earl
